A mold flow analysis, also known as mold flow analysis or by its Dutch term injection molding simulation, is an analysis done by sophisticated software. That analysis predicts how liquid, heated plastic will behave in a particular type of mold during a plastic injection molding process.
A mold flow analysis is a preliminary step in the plastic injection molding process. Before actually manufacturing an expensive mold for injection molding, the mold design is software tested. A simulation is made of how the liquid plastic in the designed mold will react during injection, curing and ejection, and how firm the final product will eventually become.
By performing a mold flow analysis in advance, a designed mold does not have to be manufactured yet, but the design can already be tested. Manufacturing a mold for plastic injection molding is a costly affair.
Thanks to a mold flow analysis, it can be ensured that the mold that is finally made and which forms the basis for an entire series production, produces high-quality and usable end products.

A mold flow analysis is always part of our plastic injection molding services. A mold flow analysis is therefore not available as a separate service.
If you choose to take on your plastic injection molding project with QoCreators, we will extensively test your product design before proceeding with production. Within this testing stage we make sure that your product design is practically feasible and results in a good and usable end product. A mold flow analysis is therefore always part of this test stage. If this shows that the mold is not filling correctly, then an adjustment to the mold design is required, for example the addition of an extra injection nose.
